At Ticket to Ride we develop all of our Gap Year courses around the simple ethic of a Gap Year being all about the combination of doing something for yourself, something for others, travelling the world and having something to show for it all at the end. Ticket to Ride is the original and only surf specific adventure travel organisation for those looking to take time out between school and university. Our Gap Year Surfing Adventures give each individual Rider the unique opportunity to combine surf coaching that delivers results, responsible travel that puts something back in the local community as well as the chance to gain lifelong skills and globally recognised qualifications.

TTRide South Africa + Mozambique
Having completed TTRide South Africa, Riders will be able to take their surfing as well as their travelling experience even further by rounding off their adventure of a lifetime exploring the untapped perfection of Mozambique.

TTRide South Africa
Ticket to Ride’s Original Gap Year Surfing Adventure. Each Rider has the chance to learn to surf, travel to 8 locations between Cape Town and Durban, get involved in a wide range of community projects and finally qualify as a professionally accredited Surf Instructor and Beach Lifeguard.

(All qualifications gained on TTRide South Africa are globally recognised and can be used to gain employment across the globe using the TTRide Recruitment Service).

TTRide Costa Rica
Is the latest Ticket to Ride location and exemplifies the inspired combination of taking surfing to the next level whilst travelling the world. TTRide Costa Rica combines learning to surf with learning to speak Spanish which Riders can use to teach local children English in the local school. TTRide Costa Rica includes a 1 week road trip that combes the beautiful Costa Rican coastline in search new discoveries and endless surfing opportunities.

Season2Season – the Ultimate Ticket to Ride in partnership with Natives.co.uk
Become a qualified cook with natives.co.uk. Learn to surf, get involved in charity work, travel around South Africa, and get qualified as a surf coach and a surf lifesaver. Then, after all that, do a full ski or snowboard season through Natives.co.uk using your cooking qualifications, before returning to the UK to potentially work as a surf instructor or beach lifeguard through the Ticket to Ride Rider recruitment service.

Volunteer Placements
Become a Ticket to Ride Volunteer and join us out in Cape Town at our charity foundation where you will get the chance to work with others and provide a valuable service to children aged 7-12. You will help with a variety of projects that we are working on which aim to make the lives of these underprivileged children better. You will also get the chance to surf at some of Cape Town's best spots under the guide of our BSA Level 2 Instructor Tim Conibear.
